2b speech on school uniforms

Have you ever had your rights taken from you? Not a previledge, not a gift, not a prize, but a right taken from you? Well prepare yourself for the day you get robbed, because schools are talking about uniforms! Uniforms have been implied to schools with discipline problems all through Arkansas, and you know what those schools still have the same problems they had before. Unforms, when applied to paper might seem real good and well but an ideal solution is not a solution at all. Think about how you would feel if you were forced to wear the same clothing as every other Tom, Dick, and Jane at school, never being able to wear your favorite shirt, not sticking out, and never having your time to shine; in the end its wrong and you would not be a happy free flowing student. Kids at all levels need individuality, lower costing cloths, and just are not effective.. Arguements go round and round on uniforms and I feel that the uniforms should stay where they are; in the heads of big manufacturers.

To start off, uniforms kill individuality and harshen the creative process. A uniform breeds uniformity. Schools need free thinking to become the thinkers of tomorrow, not drones who will continue making the mistakes of pervious generations. When we argue against s chool uniforms we argue against an education system that seeks to produce workers and for an education system that seeks to produce enlightened fully rounded human beings( Your intrapersonal communication can be expressed through your clothing when you get to pick out your own cloths. People get to see what you see in yourself, students clothing gives off noise that goes into to the eyes of others and jumpstarts the communication process. Uniforms stifle the creative process and schools should be supporting their students and allow them to go to a free thinking environment.

Providing another flaw, uniforms are not cheap. Because children are constantly growing, there is a captive market for new school clothes and manufacturers take advantage
( Parents will have to wash the uniforms and keep them well seamed and stitched. Money that could be used on other more important things is wasted. Nothing but negative feedback will come from hard working parents having to spend extra money to keep their children's cloths decent.

No matter what you dress students in, they will always find a way to pass judgment upon their peers. The clothes are not the root cause of bullying and therefore the bullying will continue, regardless of dress policy. No matter what clothing rules apply, students will always find ways to pass judgment upon each other( Bullies are people that take out their angers and frustrations on other people. No change in cloths is going to change that. Girls with bolder features are going to be targeted no matter what they were, whether it be a polo and a pair of Dickies or a Hollister and Gucci. The same goes for boys and their features.

To conclude, uniforms are a waist of time, Schools should drop the idea. Uniforms are an ieal solution to problems in the system. Students are not going to correct themselves because they are forced to wear new cloths that dampen their personal style. Bullies, money, and individuality are problems that school uniforms do not treat. Instead of trying to put a bandaid on the scab, school officials should hit the source. I believe school uniforms are an extremely bad idea and should never be applied to my school.

The novel Sacrifice by Kathleen Benner Duble is about the witch scare in the Salem region. People accussing one another of witch craft, no one can be trusted, so who would you sacrifice to be free?

The novel tells a story of a girl and her family living near Salem. Her father suffers from sudden stress induced spouts of insanity. When the two sisters get thrown in a Salem jail with their aunt, they are forced to choose " sacrifice someone else or rot in jail?"

Olympic-size what would you commit?

The members of the Olympic team make many commitments. They commit to practice, conditoning, training, and even time, in order to be the best. People make great commitments for the sublects they love. I love dance and spotlight!! I committed to making my goal of fame come true. I long to be a star.

Practice. Long hours infront of the mirror, listening to music, and learning new moves and techniques. I want a television show of my own one day, so I sit in the mirror for hours practicing my facial expressions and my speech. Each day I learn something new about myself and the way I react to things i hear. The music helps me with my singing and dancing. I wish to be well rounded. New dances come out each day and keeping is a must.

I give up time with friends and sometimes a great weekend with family. There are occassions were a friend or two come with me to practice. Mostly my friends serve me with motivation. They push me to keep going and moiving forward. There are times that I want to give up and go be a normal teen, but I believe that the hard work put in today will benefit me tommorrow.

Bannin Ipods 2b

Who: Students and Ipods
What: Ipods are getting banned from school campuses because students are using them to cheat. Students are putting answers, formulas, and other methods of cheating in class in the lyrics and codes of their Ipods.
When: During class and tests.
Where: In classrooms all over the United States.
Why it matters: The education process is being compromised and people are cheating. Cheating is being made easier and teachers are being fooled. Simple music players are becoming escape devices for students that are not reaching their full potential. First the baseball caps were banned because people were writing answers on the brim of the hats, then cell phones were taken out because teachers learned that text messages allowed answers to circulate with ease, and now Ipods are being taken away from students. Not all students use them to cheat. Some students use them to wind down after games, tests, or other events.

I think that people should stop cheating! Not everyone uses their Ipods to cheat and now everyone is being victimized. I understand why the ban is in affect, because cheating is not acceptable and does create bums for the future. I agree with the ban!,2933,268903,00.html

Natural Disaster 2b

In the world, there are many natural disasters that are changing our history. Earthquakes, Global Warming, and Euro Storms.

Earthquarkes cause much damage, and changes the lives of those caught in the rubble. In Chile, the quake stole around 700 lives, but there is sign of much life still there. The people there are living in chaos and the millitary and government have been issued to the country to deal with looters and curfew violators. Hospitals and doctors are in need of water and supplies.;_ylt=Asvgs.kkTmBm2Gg.uvDxPX.s0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTNqYmlkcW5yBGFzc2V0A2FwLzIwMTAwMzAxL2x0X2NoaWxlX2VhcnRocXVha2UEY2NvZGUDbW9zdHBvcHVsYXIEY3BvcwMxBHBvcwMyBHB0A2hvbWVfY29rZQRzZWMDeW5fdG9wX3N0b3J5BHNsawNjaGlsZXRyb29wc3A--

Global Warming is hard to prove when you are going through a harsh winter like this, but scientist argue that the planet's heating is the cause of harshness. People do not believe that the planet's tempature is going up when this winter has brought so much snow and blizzard. Scientist continue to try to prove their case.

France and neighboring countries were hit by a storm that has changed the look of the land. Air traffic and other transportion have been delayed, houses are in high water, people are dead, missing, and injured. The French President toured the affected areas, and is saying that 4 million dollars will be used in aid.

These Natural Disasters are affecting the lives of everyone in the world. People are getting negative feedback from nature. Money is being spent. The future is going to be changed. Lives are being altered.

The Most important disaster is:
Global Warming. This is the fate of our planet. Ice caps melting, polar bears dying, and summers burning the skin. Global Warming needs to be taken care.
